I love shooting portraits, and I only use natural light, which means the best time of day is usually early in the morning after sunrise or in the evening just before sunset. Your portrait session can take place in a variety of places. If you're unsure of where you'd like your portraits done, we can talk more about what you're looking for in your photos and decide on a place together. These sessions usually last around one hour.
Newborn shoots are best within the first two weeks of birth - that's when they're most likely to sleep through a session and curl up into sweet little poses. For newborn sessions, I will come to you with everything needed to set up an in-home studio. My style of newborn photography tends toward more natural, classic newborn poses. Because of that, I do not bring a lot of bows, hats or costumes. I do have some understated little girl headbands. These sessions usually last two to three hours. We can talk more about what a typical session entails when you book with me.
There is always a special energy to military homecomings, and I feel honored any time I'm asked to play a role in capturing the joy and relief that accompany the safe return of a loved one from deployment. Because of the nature of this type of session, I usually block off a few days around the time your family member/friend is expected home, and as you find out more details, we will solidify a time, date and meeting place closer to the actual homecoming.
